I'm Really Beginning To HATE Mondays!

For the last two Mondays, I've had some pretty bad things happen. Over a week ago, I went to get my hair touched up at my next door neighbor's and Aubree wanted to stay home and watch cartoons. So I let her.

While I was at my neighbor's, a police officer pulled into her driveway and I saw Aubree jump out of it! He came over to explain what had happened. Apparently, a telemarketer called and Aubree answered the phone and told them that I wasn't home and her dad wasn't home. So they called the police. They came and told her that she needed to get in his car to go find me. She told him that they would just walk over there if he wanted to. He was confused by this, but told her she needed to get in his car. So she did. He asked if she knew where I was and she pointed to my neighbor's house. He drove her over and was surprised to find me only about 100 feet away. He apologized for the inconvenience and left. I felt like a really crappy mom.

Yesterday, I was taking Brooks in for his four month check up and immunizations. When we got into the building, Brynn threw a fit and would not go up the stairs. So while I was carrying Brooks in his carrier in one arm, I reached down and grabbed Brynn's hand and pulled her up the stairs with my free hand. She started to scream and when I let go of her hand, if just fell limp. She couldn't move it. Luckily we were heading into the doctor's office, so I had him take a look at it. He said that I had dislocated her elbow. He popped it back into place and then she was fine. I, again, felt like a really crappy mom.

So we can no longer hold Brynn's hand, well for the next three or four months, to make sure it doesn't happen again. Hopefully we won't be having anymore bad Mondays. I'm planning on just staying home. That should fix it, right?

Oh Hannah.... I am so sorry. I know for sure that you are not a crappy mom. Don't be so hard on yourself. Don't you wish kids had just a slight clue of the guilt and torment they put us through sometimes? Good thing they are so stinkin' cute!!!

You are a wonderful mom, things happen. If it makes you feel any better the same thing happened to Max when I yanked his coat off a couple of winters ago. They forget, unfortunately you still feel guilty but they still love you. Keep your head up!

You aren't a bad mom! Maybe this explains why my mom and dad went on one family trip and I wasn't even born yet! Write them down and someday they will be funny! Love you lots!

I know how you feel about the whole elbow thing. When Maylie was that age her elbow got dislocated too and I had to take her into the hospital to get it fixed. Poor girl. You are a good Mommy. I think you are awesome. I hope next week goes better for you. I miss walking with you ladies. Hopefully I will be able to start up again when I am further along.

I'm not a mom yet, but I've had nightmares about dropping my baby or squishing her somehow. Wierd how the mommy guilt starts before you even have them. You are a super mom, and you're kids are lucky to have you!

I think we should skip Mondays too. How about we go from Sunday straight to Tuesday! I hope you have a better week next week! Hang in there, this stuff happens to everyone, it's not your fault.
