Time To Decorate!

Now that Thanksgiving has passed, it's time to look forward to Christmas. I decided to put our tree up this morning and we even had Brett around to help for a little while. It was so much fun! The only bad part about it was that a spider was climbing through the branches and we lost it! Eeewwwww!!!!! But we got through it and the tree is up and decorated. This is what we've done this morning...

Here's the finished product! Now we just have to decorate the rest of the house. Fun, fun!!

It's a HOUSE!!!

We've had LOTS going on with our house since the last time I posted on it. Our brick is finished and we are so pleased with how it turned out. At the beginning of this week, the insulators came and blew in the insulation around the house. The the sheetrockers have been here Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday morning hanging all of the sheetrock. They are coming back today to do the garage then they'll come back Tuesday to do the bathroom and spare bedroom downstairs after the insulators finish up down there on Monday.
When I went through the house yesterday afternoon, I couldn't believe what I saw! The sheetrock was hung throughout the upstairs and just that gives the house an entirely different feel. I actually feels like a house with real rooms - rooms that you don't see through and that have a ceiling! It's AMAZING!! My mom was right, once I can see that it's actually going to be a house, I am getting so anxious to move in!!!! We still have a LONG way to go, but it's so exciting to see how it looks. I can stand in each room forever and just imagine what it's going to look like. I can't wait!!
Here's what everything looks like now...

Visits

We had a wonderful time visiting with my mom and sister, Nicole, who came to visit us for a couple of days. While they were here we did a LOT of baking, cooking, and hanging out. The kids were thrilled with all of the goodies that Grandma Good brought them. They got reading books, activity books, movies, stuffed animals, action figures, and Austin got a little licence plate for his bike that has his name on it from my Uncle Rex. He is SOOOOOOOOO excited about that!!! Here are some pictures from our great visit...

Been Busy

Wow, it's been a while since I've posted last! I have been kept VERY busy for the last two weeks. First of all, a week ago I did a food demonstration for our Fantastic Friday our Relief Society put on. I showed everyone how to make a pie crust as well as how to make a pumpkin pie and a chocolate pecan pie. It was a HUGE success! Everything ran so smoothly and people were so surprised with how easy making pies actually is. The biggest compliment I got that night was when people asked me what culinary school I went to and if I would bake pies for their families for Thanksgiving. Can you believe it! How fun it was!!

My latest adventure happened last night. I hosted a girls' night out for the girls my age in my ward. There are so many new girls, my goal was to get to know them and for them to get to know us. Mission accomplished! We had so much fun!!! Nine girls ended up coming and everyone brought some food for all of us to chow down on while visiting. It was sooooooo good! We also had a masseuse come over so that everyone could have a 30 minute massage while they were here. I transformed Brynnlee's room into a getaway with candles strewn all over the room. It was great! I also created some centerpieces for the appetizer table as well as the dinner table that turned out really nice and EASY with candles (of course) to give it a luxurious feel. And as we hung out, Michael Buble serenaded us all night long! It was a night none of us girls will soon forget! For all the complaining and stress I had beforehand, it was SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO worth it - it always is! I LOVE entertaining!!!!

Here are some pictures of our terrific night...

These are the invitations I made! Fun, huh?!

This is only half of the girls that came. It was such a fun night; I'm already thinking of when to do this again!
